XBRL US is offering free online learning modules for those interested in brief introductions to the fundamentals of the open data exchange standard for business reporting and XULE, an open-source syntax created to help developers benefit from XBRL without restructuring the foundation of their technology infrastructure.
The online learning opportunities feature the following modules:
- XBRL Fundamentals: a resource for individuals interested in having a better understanding of the XBRL standard, taxonomies and reports (referred to as instance documents)
- Understanding the US GAAP Taxonomy: a module that introduces the technical details about the US GAAP Taxonomy, its structure, and how the features of the XBRL standard are implemented
- Introduction to XULE: a hands-on overview of an open-source XBRL processing syntax for manipulating and evaluating XBRL content (including facts, reports, and taxonomies) so that data may be validated, displayed and standardized regularly
There is no charge to connect with and use these learning modules, but users will need to create a free account on XBRL’s Education webpage on xbrl.us. Note that an XBRL US Web account will not work as a login for the online learning modules.
