The FERC, in conjunction with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), will hold a conference via webcast on ferc.gov on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EDT. The meeting will cover topics pertaining to the physical security of the Bulk-Power System. The staff will present panels on the following topics and matters related to the security of the Bulk-Power System, including the adequacy of existing physical security controls, challenges, and solutions:
- Effectiveness of Reliability Standard CIP-014-3—Applicability and Minimum Level of Physical Protection
- Solutions Beyond CIP-014-3—Best Practices and Operational Preparedness and Grid Planning to Respond to and Recover from Physical and Cyber Security Threats and Potential Obstacles
