The SEC’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting via webcast on sec.gov to discuss matters concerning rules and regulations affecting small and emerging businesses and their investors under the federal securities laws. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. ET. This meeting is free and open for the public to attend. {expires: 2024-02-28}
During the meeting, the Committee will address the following topics:
- the Office’s FY2023 Annual Report, including in-depth information on the state of capital raising activity from startup to small cap along with the Office’s policy recommendations
- potential recommendations regarding updates to the accredited investor definition, expanding on ideas from a previous Committee meeting
- the state of the IPO market, and how the decrease in IPO activity and market shifts are impacting smaller companies and related capital raising challenges
