On May 15th, the EDGAR Business Office issued a preview of the upcoming updates to the EDGAR system’s capabilities, technical specifications, and the draft EDGAR Filer Manual prior to the approaching EDGAR software release. The release is currently scheduled for June 15, 2026, and filers may review and test the expected EDGAR system changes in the EDGAR Beta Environment beginning June 1, 2026.
The publication offers the following preview of changes and links to resources for Release 26.2:
- expected updates to EDGAR technical specifications—specifically changes to EDGAR Security-Based Swap (SBS) Entity Forms XML Technical Specifications
- draft EDGAR Filer Manual, Volume II will feature revisions to SBS Entity forms to allow Inline XBRL attachments for submission types SBSE-CCO-RPT and SBSE-CCO-RPT/A, as well as clarifications regarding Draft Registration Statement (DRS) statutory provisions and applicable policy
While the preview is provided as a courtesy to the filing community, the SEC has not approved, may approve or disapprove, and may revise any of the planned changes noted.
