On November 25, 2020, the SEC announced its virtual Investor Advisory Committee meeting that will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. ET and will be presented live via webcast for public viewing on
sec.gov. The meeting also will be archived on the Committee’s website for later viewing.
The Investor Advisory Committee was established to advise the SEC on:
- regulatory priorities and the regulation of securities products
- trading strategies and fee structures
- the effectiveness of disclosure and initiatives to protect investor interests
- promoting investor confidence and the integrity of the securities marketplace
The Committee is comprised of members who represent diverse investor interests, including seniors, those of individual and institutional investors, and state securities commissions. For more information and a full list of Committee members, visit the Committee’s webpage.
At the meeting, two panels will discuss the following matters: 1) corporate disclosure during COVID-19; and 2) COVID-19 implications for the next proxy season. The Committee will also introduce new officers Jennifer Marietta-Westberg as Chair, Heidi Stam as Vice Chair, Ted Daniels as Secretary, and JW Verret as Assistant Secretary, all of whom were elected under the revised bylaws approved on September 24 and will become effective December 3.
