The Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission (Task Force) has announced that its upcoming meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET. {expires: 2022-02-17}

Matters addressed at the meeting may include issues raised in proceedings that are currently pending before the FERC. These proceedings include but are not limited to:

PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. Docket No. ER22-902-000
PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. Docket No. ER22-702-000
California Independent System Operator Corporation Docket Nos. ER21-1790-003; ER2-1790-005

The Task Force was established by the FERC and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) in June 2021 and is comprised of the FERC Commissioners and ten state regulators representing the five NARUC regions. The partnership allows state and federal regulators to work side-by-side on various transmission issues.

At this meeting, the Task Force will also discuss the following:

  • Specific categories and types of transmission benefits that transmission providers should consider for the purposes of transmission planning and cost allocation
  • Cost allocation principles, methodologies, and decision processes for the purposes of transmission planning and cost allocation

This meeting is open to attend in person at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington, DC, but will be widely available to the public via audio webcast. For more information about this event, including anticipated proceedings, agenda and COVID-19 guidance, refer to the event’s webpage. Instructions on how to join the webcast are forthcoming and will be posted on the Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission webpage.
